Murano glassmaking is one of Italy’s oldest and most treasured art forms. For over seven centuries, artisans on the island of Murano — just outside Venice — have shaped molten glass into luminous works of art.

The craft is passed down through generations, with each master learning by hand: how to control the heat, the breath, and the rhythm that gives the glass its soul. Every piece requires precision, intuition, and time, qualities that cannot be replicated by machines.

At ODO, we collaborate directly with certified glassworks in the Venice area that continue to practice these traditional techniques. This ensures that every lamp in our collection is made according to genuine Murano standards, using the same methods that have defined Venetian glass for centuries.

The result is light that carries more than beauty, it carries history, artistry, and a touch of Italy itself.
